National Day of Mourning
South East Cornerstone Public School Division will support wherever possible the lowering of flags on school buildings on Monday, April 29, in recognition of the April 28 National Day of Mourning. Annually, an average of 1,000 workers are killed on the job and hundreds of thousands of others are either injured or suffer illnesses as a result of workplace related diseases. In 1991 the National Day of Mourning was established to mourn for those who died, and to re-enforce the commitment to continue to fight for a healthy and safe workplace.
