Students Participate in Squishy Skies Science Activity

On May 31 the Assiniboia Park Elementary School Grade 1 French Immersion class welcomed the EYES team into their classroom for a hands on science activity called Squishy Skies.

They made circuits using playdoh, plasticine, small LED lights and a battery pack for power.  Students were very excited as they worked in pairs to light up the bulbs.  They then heard about the importance of the sky and the stars (constellations) through several stories from First Nations knowledge keepers.

Students formed the outline of The Big Dipper out of playdoh and lit up the 7 stars which form this constellation.
